Deal Card: Mount Engineering Plc
BDO Birmingham Lead Advisory team recently acted as financial advisor to Cooper Controls (U.K.) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cooper Industries plc ("Cooper") on a competing offer for Mount Engineering Plc ("Mount"), an AIM listed company. On 22 September 2010, another group announced a recommended cash offer for Mount. We were appointed by Cooper to assist them in looking at a competing offer for Mount. On 27 September 2010, Cooper announced it was evaluating a possible offer, followed by an announcement of a firm cash offer for Mount four days later. The recommendation by Mount was subsequently switched to the Cooper offer enabling Cooper to succeed in acquiring Mount. Cooper Industries is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
